Important information

- A headscarf (hijab/abaya) must be worn in holy places and places of worship for women.
- Men, not to wear shorts during the trip, not to take and drink alcoholic beverages to the holy places, and not to carry them in bags or with luggage.

AIRPORT TRANSFER
● A presentation delivered at the airport over a flight from Istanbul to Baghdad
● arrival to Baghdad,

BAGHDAD
● Breakfast
● Visit to Iraq Museum which was established by well-known British orientalist Gertrude Bell, along with cultural objects from Sumerian, Babylonian and Asian eras
● Moving to Al-Shaheed Monument garden ( Martyr's Memorial ) to take a look at the amazing sculpture which is originally dedicated to the Iraqi soldiers who died in the Iran–Iraq War in the 80's of the last century ● Having lunch at a local restaurant
● An afternoon visit to the ziggurat and temple of Dur-Kurigalzu which dates back to the reign of king Kurigalzu I of Kassite dynasty in Babylonian era (1400 b.c) , which is considered as one of the most significant ziggurats in all of Mesopotamia ● Free Dinner buffet and a night at the hotel in Baghdad


BAGHDAD
● Breakfast
● A hike across the historical centre of Baghdad neighbouring the river of Tigris from the scholarly complex of Al-Mustansiriya Madrasa to The Abbasid Palace , alongside an introduction to all Abbasid era antiquities across Al-Shuhadaa Bridge and Al-Mutanabbi Street and Al-Rasheed Street ● Lunch at a local restaurant
● A visit to the historical city of Al-Mada'in to visit Taq Kasra (Iwan of Khosrow) in Ctesiphon Palace, which is a Sasanian Empire architectural masterpiece dates back to the 6th century
● A visit to Baghdad University neighbourhood and Liberation Square (Al-Tahrir Square) alongside the major monument which commemorates the independence of Iraq
● Free Dinner buffet and a night at the hotel in Baghdad


BAGHDAD - BABYLON
● Breakfast
● Heading to Babylon, which is one of the most significant ancient eras cities and the capital of Mesopotamia, which dates back to King Hammurabi of the early 2nd millennium b.c until captured by Alexander The Great in the 4th century b.c., an archeologist site that features The Hanging Gardens of Babylon and Etemenanki Ziggurats, Towers Of Babel and Nebuchadnezzar II Palace. The site is listed on UNESCO World Heritage Sites and it's such a unique experience to visit and explore
● Visit to the archeological site of Borsippa to explore the remains of this Babylonian ancient city ● Heading back to the hotel to have dinner and stay the night


BAGHDAD - SAMARRA - MOSUL
● Breakfast
● Leaving the hotel early to visit the archeological city of Samaraa , which was established by Abbasid caliphs back in the 9th century , famous for the spiral snail shell Minaret of Al-Malwiyyah of The Great Mosque of Samarra , listed on UNESCO World Heritage Sites which is considered as one of the world's largest archeological sites
● A visit to The Great Mosque of Samarra, Al-Malwiyyah Minaret, The Palace of The Caliphate, Abu-Dulaf Mosque (if accessible), and Qasr al-Ashiq
● Lunch
● If Qasr al-Ashiq is not accessible, then having a picnic around
● If Abu Dulaf Mosque is not accessible, then visiting the holy shrines of Imam Hasan al-Askari
● Continuing the way up to the city of Mosul
● Dinner and the night at the hotel


MOSUL
● Breakfast
● Heading in the morning to visit Mor Mattai Monastery which is an archaeological monastery located on the top of Mount Alfaf in northern Iraq, founded by Syriac saint Mor Mattai back in the 4th century, and famous for thousands of monks and scholars it housed
● Heading back to the city of Mosul to have lunch, then visiting its historical monuments situated in its right side, such as The Great Mosque of al-Nuri which was established by Zengid dynasty ruler Nur ad-Din Zangi back in the 4th century, almost nine centuries ago, and considered as the second mosque built after The Umayyad Mosque and was reconstructed for several times, most recently in 1944. The mosque is famous for its leaning minaret eastwards, which is the only part remaining from the original building. The word “Al-Hadbaa” is usually associated with the city of Mosul, and the minaret is considered as one of the most prominent archaeological sites in the city. The vicinity of the mosque was bombed for several times during The Battle of Mosul 2016, as The Great Mosque of al-Nuri, and its leaning minaret Al-Hadbaa were destroyed in the old city.

MOSUL - TRACES OF HATRA
● Breakfast
● Heading to the historical city of Al-Hadar or (Hatra) as mentioned in the ancient Aramaic writings, which is considered as one of the most prominent archeological cities in Iraq and one of the most ancient Arab kingdoms, and was ruled by only four kings. It is considered as the first archeological site included on The UNESCO World Heritage List. The epigraphic inscriptions indicate that the name of the kingdom was written as "Hatra" in Aramaic, when the same went with coins struck by the people of Hatra themselves as they took the phrase "Hatra Di Shumsh" which means "Hatra Is The City Of The Sun" or "Hatra Is The City That Belongs To The Sun" as an emblem for their own national currency. It was mentioned in the same form in the Latin and Syriac chronicles with only a slight difference, as the word "Hatra" was mentioned in Ancient Latin sources with the meaning of "Land Of Arab”, while it was mentioned as "Hotra" which means
"Barn" in Aramaic and Syriac, besides, the word "Hatar" was mentioned in Ugaritic texts for several times which means "Palace"
● Heading back to Mosul for lunch and having some rest
● A visit to The Forests Of Mosul
● A visit to Um Al-Rabeaeen Island
● Having dinner and heading back to the hotel to stay the night


MOSUL - DUHOK - ZAKHO
● Breakfast
● Heading to the city of Zakho , where Kurd , Arab , Christian and Yazidi people all together live in peace and coexistence. The city has several historical and archeological sites, most significant and prominent among them is Al-Abbasi Bridge or Delal, Bridge or Pira Delal in Kurdish, known also as The Grand Bridge by Zakho people, which is an ancient stone bridge over the Khabur river
● Lunch
● Heading to the hotel in Dukok to get some rest
● Heading in the evening to visit Duhok's landmarks
● Dinner
● Heading back to the hotel to stay the night


DUHOK
● Breakfast
● Heading in the morning to visit Duhok's resorts, starting of Jabal Kara, Ashawa Resort, Geli Balinda Resort, Sulaf Resort, Akre Resort, Sarsing resort and Zawita Resort
● A visit to the city of Amadiya
● Heading back to the hotel


ERBIL - LALISH
● Breakfast
● Heading to Erbil province with a stop at Lalish Temple which is a sacred place of Yazidis and considered as the world's Yazidi religion spiritual council headquarters. The temple is located in a mountainous area near the village of Ayn Sifna, where The Illuminated Temple and the tomb of Sheikh Adi ibn Musafir which is a central figure of the Yazidi faith both situate. Yazidis make a 7-day pilgrimage to Lalish at least once in their lifetimes
● Continuing the way up to the hotel in Erbil to take a rest
● Heading in the evening to visit the historical Citadel of Erbil or Erbil Castle and roaming the city. The site of the citadel may date back as early as the Neolithic period, where pottery fragments possibly dating to that period have been found on the slopes of the mound.
Clear evidence for Population Settlement comes from the Chalcolithic period, with sherds resembling pottery of both the Ubaid and Uruk periods in The Jazira


ERBIL - SHAQLAWA
● Breakfast
● Heading in the morning to have a full-day visit to Erbil's Resorts, starting of Bekhal Resort, Geli Ali Beg Waterfall and Shaqlawa Resort
● Heading back in the evening to Erbil
● Dinner and stay the night


ERBIL - WARSAW
